ANNUAL TCM REVIEW 2019

Julie Nijs: External Credit Controller

The end of the year is approaching, time for some (self-)reflection! During this festive period we ask our TCM colleagues to take a look back at their personal TCM highlights of 2019. Today it is Julie’s turn, our external credit controller (visitor).

Julie, what will you mainly remember about the past TCM year?

  • In 2019, we worked  for client ‘Steunt Elkander’. These files required a specific approach, which is why we also received internal training in cooperation with the client. I was appointed as one of the responsibles, which meant an enormous engagement. This experience has taught me a lot, and these are the kind of projects that stimulate and motivate me. It is also nice to know that TCM Belgium dares to put such trust in me. #dailymotivation

  • I have worked for several years as an internal credit controller at TCM,, but this year, a position as an external credit controller (visitor) became vacant. I saw this as an opportunity to grow as a person. This job comes with nice bonusses such as flexibility and a company car, and as a young mum I can say those points are very convenient. However, what mainly touched me and shaped me further above all other things, are the debtors ‘without any filter’. As an internal credit controller you are involved with your debtors, but in a different way than literally stepping into the lives of those people… . #nofilter

  • During the busy TCM months of 2019 I supported the sales team. This resulted in some new (and for me first) appointments, and gave me the opportunity to develop some sales experience and skills. #successmindset

Thank you, Julie!

Valentin Debelder: Legal Advisor & Credit Controller

The end of the year is approaching, time for some (self-)reflection! During this festive period we ask our TCM colleagues to take a look back at their personal TCM highlights of 2019. Today it is Kimberly’s turn, our credit controller.

Kimberly, what will you mainly remember about the past TCM year?

  • On the 22nd of August 2019 I gave myself a small gift in the shape of (half) a day off, so I could enjoy the funfair in my hometown Aarschot. A very big deal for me and my fellow citizens! It was definitely going to be a good day, but little did I know that, simultaneously, something delightful happened at the office as well. And I supposed to be the subject of it… . One of my colleagues took over a phone call for me. The police was on the the line , the chief of police to be exact! My colleague realised, maybe a bit too slow, that it was going to be a pleasant conversation. A personal conversation as well, far from violations and cold cases. The chief of police asked (numerous times) if he could have a word with me. The ego of my colleague was close to destruction when she could finally convince him that I was absent and that she could help him just as good. He apparently wanted to send me a bouquet of flowers. Say what? I was freshly engaged at that time, and my colleague is quite the fan of playing inappropriate scenarios in her head. But the motivation had a decent origin: gratitude! It is not the first time that debtors (and creditors) thank us for our efforts in finding the best solution possible for a financial problem, but it wás the very first time that we would receive a bouquet of flowers as a thank you for our service. “Because we probably have to deal with frustrations and difficult files all the time, and a small gesture could probably mean a world of difference.” Most certainly! The next day I arrived unsuspectingly at the office, though my colleagues had a hard time believing that I was oblivious to the flowers. I couldn’t blame them, since I was wearing a yellow top and a floral printed trousers… . Perfect for the obligatory photo that followed. So thank you generous donor, these kind of gestures are hugely appreciated! #happydebtors

  • September 2019 was a phenomenal month for or company. We were able to give a lot of creditors and debtors an amicable happy ending, time for a party! With the part of the team that was present, we filled our bellies with delicious Italian food in the Leuven city center. Such bonding moments with my fellow colleagues are very important to me, especially when pasta is involved! We work for the same cause and reap the same rewards. #butfirstfood
