Summons

A summons is an extra-judicial document addressed by the creditor, via a bailiff, to the defaulting debtor, ordering the latter to appear before the appointed court.

Generally occurring after an attempt at amicable recovery has proven fruitless, the issue of a summons announces the launch of judicial recovery proceedings.
